Kellen & Evan team up and earn a W in Public Forum
The mighty tenth grade squad won accolades across three events at Mullen on Saturday, including a first place finish in US Extemp. The team is looking to continue it's momentum as we head down to Pueblo for the 4A CHSAA State Championship tournament next week.
Adding another accolade to an incredible season, Kit won first in US Extemporaneous Speaking. Matched up against students from Kent Denver and Cherry Creek, Kit delivered a riveting speech on the future of the US agenda in outer space to win the final round.
In their first tournament, novices Katie Bergsieker & Emery Mikula advanced to the finals of Impromptu and earned 3rd & 4th place, respectively.
Also competing for the first time in-person, Laura Noyes earned 5th place winning two of her three debates against students from DSST: Cedar.
Kellen & Evan team up and earn a W in Public Forum
Debating the environmental impacts of single-use plastic, Kellen and Evan won their match against DSST.
Robert & Augie win against Rock Canyon
Arguing the harms of transitioning away from single-use plastics in the healthcare industry, Robert and Augie ended the day with a big win.
Next up, we'll be heading to Pueblo Central for the state championship. The team will be heading out Friday morning and returning Saturday night. Daily practice sessions are happening during lunch in the Campus Center.
Interested in judging at future tournaments? We will be hosting a judge training workshop in partnership with Denver Christian on 2/29 at 6:00 pm in Knowles.
We need all the help we can get to be great hosts on April 19th. We will be hosting middle school teams from across Colorado and need parents to help with judging and hospitality for the tournament. If you are interested in volunteering please email the coaches below.
