MS Speech & Debate kicks off Spring season at ISD!

Friday night, the students picked up big wins and had a great finish at the Dragon Invitational held at International School of Denver. We had students competing in varsity and novice divisions of Public Forum as well as Impromptu Speaking. The team next competes at Denver Christian on
March 8th and we are hosting the April tournament on April 19th at CA.
Daphne Dias wins 2nd place in Impromptu!
This was Daphne's first time competing in Impromptu Speaking. She gave speeches on the topics of democracy, climate change, and justice with only two minutes of preparation for each.
Rahul & Victoria go undefeated in varsity Public Forum
Debating the repeal of section 230 of the Communication Decency Act, Rahul and Victoria won both of their rounds against Kent Denver & Frontier Academy.
Darcy & Henry finish 2-1 winning vs. KDS
Arguing about the effect repealing section 230 would have on the Artificial Intelligence industry, Darcy & Henry picked up wins against Frontier Academy & Kent Denver.
Emily & Isla get a win
versus ISD in novice debut
In their first tournament competition, Emily and Isla had a great tournament win arguing the affirmative.
Elliot & Hendrik win
versus Brentwood
In their first time partnering, Elliot and Hendrik faced tough competition and pulled off a win against the Bengals.
JUDGE TRAINING - 2/29
Interested in judging at future tournaments? We will be hosting a judge training workshop with Denver Christian on 2/29
at 6:00 pm in Knowles.
DENVER CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT - 3/8
The students will be crossing the street for our next tournament at Denver Christian. Public Forum will still be arguing the repeal of Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act.
COLORADO ACADEMY HOSTING ON 4/19
We need all the help we can get to be great hosts on April 19th. We will be hosting teams from across Colorado and need parents to help with judging and hospitality for the tournament. If you are interested in volunteering please email the coaches below.
